Conference policies
ELECTRONICS POLICIES
YMUNK XII will strictly enforce a no-electronics policy in its committee sessions. Delegates will not be able to use any electronics during committee sessions, including but not limited to laptop, tablet, etc., except for cases of emergency or situations where file-sharing is necessary (i.e. using Google Document during unmoderated caucuses to write a working paper or draft resolution). We highly urge delegates to print out all files or documents that they may use during debates as printing will not be available on-site.
Delegates are not permitted to bring in pre-prepared outlines or drafts of draft resolutions or working papers. Delegates should only bring research pertaining to the position they are representing. Failure to follow these policies will impact eligibility for awards, as well as ability to participate in committee.
Dress code POLICIES
Western Business Attire (WBA) is the mandatory dress code that all delegates must abide by throughout the conference. Casual clothing, such as jeans, sneakers, or T-shirts, is strictly prohibited unless otherwise specified (i.e., delegates may wear YMUNK XII merch T-shirts to optional events such as the Community Fair, Delegate Dance, etc). Participants are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance, with minimal and non-distracting accessories. Failure to adhere to the dress code may result in restricted participation unless prior exceptions have been granted for specific needs.
COVID-19 POLICIES
Masking is not required for the duration of the conference but is recommended.
FOOD AND DRINK POLICIES
Per the venue's policy, no food consumption is allowed inside committee rooms. Only drinks inside a closed, sealable container may be brought inside committee rooms.
ENGLISH POLICIES
Out of respect for other delegates and members of the Secretariat, only English will be permitted in committee. Should a delegate be heard communicating to one another in a language other than English, the delegate will receive warnings on a three-strike policy. After the third warning, the delegate may be expelled from committee.
OBSERVER POLICIES
YMUNK welcomes interested advisors, parents, or other designated observers, to observe debate at the back of committee rooms, if space permits, with the exception of Voting Procedure during which observers may be asked to leave committee. However, please refrain from moving around the room and taking photos of delegates. YMUNK will be responsible for taking photos of delegates, which will be distributed after the conference. The photographer will try their best to take photos of every delegate. In the event that a parent of an advisor poses a distraction in committee, the Director will kindly remind the parent or advisor to remain at the back of the room. Should distraction continue, the parent or advisor may be requested to leave committee.
